About us

Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH continues a long publishing tradition. As early as 1786 the bookseller Friedrich Vieweg founded a publishing house in Berlin. Vieweg Verlag has had its headquarters in Wiesbaden since 1974.

Today it is part of Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH. The Automobiltechnische Zeitschrift (ATZ) is a good 110 years younger. It was also founded in Berlin in 1898 as Motorwagen Zeitschrift (“Motored Vehicles Magazine”). Since 1929 it has been called ATZ.
